Mission Aftermath

My memory is a little foggy exactly how this went but it was something like this:
One night the phone rang and my mom mindlessly picked it up and said hello.  The person on the other end asked for my dad.  He came and got the phone, listend for a short while, said, "Yes this is he."  Listened again, said, "Okay," and hung up.  He turned with a strange look.  My mom asked who it was and he replied that someone was trying to get in touch with him and they would call back tonight at a certain time.  When that call came it was an exciting call for my dad as he discovered it was someone he had baptized in New Zealand over 30 years before.  The man said he just wanted to find Elder Brown and thank him for bringing the gospel to him years ago.  He also said he wanted Dad to know what an effect he made in their family and extended family.  The man was currently a Stake President with a son who was a bishop.  He also mentioned the many family members that have been baptised and become members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He said, "Just know your mission wasn't in vain.  Even if you thought I was the only one you made a difference for know that it wasn't just one person, it has affected many."
